What is this?
The "Get Aggregated" network serves as a blog post aggregator. It pulls feeds based on a large variety of different topics. The system polls every associated blog in each of the categories that are being monitored on a regular basis and returns the newest related posts in groups of ten at a time. The network was originally built using only feeds from blogs that we frequent, but we wanted to open the system up to everyone, so you can now submit a blog feed to be added to the network.
Why do this?
The network was born from the passion of two internet geeks who enjoy reading weblogs and their desire for a readily updated aggregation of the recent posts. We have all tried simple monitors, manual aggregation, and feed readers, but each left us wanting more. We wanted something that set no emphasis on who pays for placement or updates more readily. It's a first posted, first served system and that's the way we like it.
Who did this?
Geeks, of course! Vince is a System Administrator who had the skill to provide a reliable, scalable, and secure network to launch such a large project. Ralph is a long time web developer with the skill that was necessary to author the aggregator program. With a combined 20+ years of web, administation, and development experience, we hope that you will find the system as enjoyable as we do.
How do I?
Get Aggregated:
We are always looking for new and interesting blogs to add to the network. To "Get Aggregated" just visit our submit page and fill out the small form. We'll let you know when your feed has been added.
Advertise:
We are currently making use of Google's AdSense to handle the advertising through the network. Our goal is to serve interesting aggregated content, so we have not focused much on trying to build an ad base. If you would really like for us to consider an advertising initiative with your site/company, please feel free to visit our advertising page.
